I don’t know when they changed ING VYSYA to ING Direct! Anyway, ING is probably the best bank among the three banks I have savings accounts with. The others are HDFC, and ICICI. When I opened an Orange savings account with ING, I was very disappointed they did not have online money transfer facility in India. That made me use the account very irregularly. But after a couple of months, a customer service rep called on me to enquire about their service. I told her that I was disappointed at not having online money transfer facility to non-ING banks. I felt she didn’t expect such a complaint. and had to murmur that they had such facility to current accounts.
A few months later ING actually initiated money transfer facility to non-ING banks also! The only bad thing I noticed was their lousy practice of activating online banking service. But still I am not an active user of this account because none of my brokerage houses allow me to make online money transfer from ING! I am sure the bank will bring that service also sooner or later. That is why I haven’t closed my account. When they give that service also, ING will be my primary bank.
I am so impressed at their service. The only thing I don’t like is the big ING logo that too on a white background on my debit card!! Yuck, bery ugly to my eyes! They should use more orange color than white and reduce the size of ING logo! After all Orange is my favourite color!! ING is a small bank and it makes you feel like there is none else to serve other than you!!
