My daughter opened a Savings Account in the Vijayanagar, Branch of ING Vysya Bank Ltd. in Bangalore. At that time the Bank told her that the Banking “Kit” consisting of Chequebook, ATM card, Net Banking ID etc. would be delivered to her within a week. (In ICICI Bank the same is handed over across the table when any account is opened.) But when the Kit did not reach even after a week’s waiting, she contacted the Branch only to be told that they have sent the papers to another Branch from where the Kit will be issued.
As my daughter was no not able to do any transaction, I met an officer of the Branch, nine days after depositing Rs. 5000/-, which is the minimum amount for opening of a savings account. Instead of helping, the officer behaved rudely and said that once they have sent the papers, their duty has ended. So we don’t know what to do next. Already 18 days have passed and she is unable to operate the account. I have been advised by my friends to lodge a complaint with the Banking Ombudsman in the Office of the Banking Ombudsman, C/o Reserve Bank of India, 10/3/8, Nrupathunga Road, Bangalore-560 001, Karnataka.
No wonder this Bank makes huge losses, abt. 350 crores last year, thanks to a bunch of inefficient officers. Not only they are not bothered about the customers’ needs, they must be failing in their other duties as well.
