Ingram Micro has a buy back service for Samsung mobile phones. Their contact number is 1800 420 4667. I called on 29th Oct14. I was greeted by Karan Lamba. I wanted to sell my Samsung Grand Duos. He took all the information regarding my phones condition and model name and accessories available. I even told him that I have extended manufacturer warranty.
He quoted a price of Rs. 7600. I was told that I will get an email for quotation which I did not get. I called again and again. I was promised by Karan that he will call me back on 30th Oct14. Next day their toll free number was busy for major part of day. However, when got through, Karan again told me to wait for one hour, which I did, Still I did not get the quotation and called again. Meanwhile, I got the quotation on email on 30th Oct14 which says that the quotation is for Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. I had specifically told this guy that I have samsung grand 1st Generation.
I called again, this time there was a lady who attended my call. She agreed that a mistake was committed. I agree errors do occur. She quoted a price for my Grand 1st Generation @ Rs. 6400. I asked her to email me revised quotation. I received the quotation over an email within 5 minutes. To my surprise price quoted in the email was Rs. 5500. I replied on the email with disgust and complained.
Today on 31st Oct14, I got a call from Karan that lady committed a mistake in quoting the price of Rs. 6400 and Rs. 5500 quoted in the email is the final price. Who knows If I agree to this price and send my mobile to them and then they may revise the price again. What is the guarantee that they handle my handset properly in case I wish to take it back because of unsatisfactory price quoted.
