Hi,
I have read the other reviews on the In2Cable service in is forum and they do not portray a good image.
I would like to narrate my experience. I have been using In2cable Internet for the past 3 months. I stay in the Khar-Bandra area, in Mumbai. Huge MTNL bills compelled me to assess an alternate Internet Service. I applied for a 3 month In2cable service (shared connection), through one of their marketing executives. I must say at this stage they were prompt to send one to my house. He was courteous enough to answer all my questions with high degree of patience. I was assessing Wincable, DishnetDSL and Hathway Services too.
The cost factor seemed calculated keeping the average usage for the home user. I was promised the connection in 3-4days. In 2 days the cable was installed and by the 4th day, after repeated phone calls, they sent someone to configure the connection. The Internet worked for 2-3 hours and suddenly stopped working for rest of the day. I started wondering if I should have believed the earlier reviews posted on Mouthshut. My dad and me started discussing frantically, thinking that we were cheated.
We kept calling up their office for the next 2 days. Finally, we got some help from their helpdesk personnel who told us that there was some problem from the VSNL end. They sent some person to the house for establishing the connection. At this stage I observed that the field staff were not trained and were dependant on the technical staff from their office.
I have worked for 2 of the leading ISPs and am aware of some of the technical aspects to troubleshoot in case of a disconnection. I observed the person who had come to restore the connection. After that day the service has been above average.
Here are my parameters and ratings for In2cable.
Rating Scale:
5 - Excellent
4 - Good
3 - Average
2 - A lot is desired
1 - Bad
1) First time connection - 4
2) Remains connected - 4
3) Surfing Speed - 4
4) Download Speed - 4
5) HelpDesk - 3
6) Field Staff - 2
7) As a deal for a home user - 4
Average Rating - 3.6
In conclusion, I recommend In2Cable Internet services (atleast in the Bandra-Khar area). But, before subscribing please bear in mind that one needs to be tech savvy enough to troubleshoot connectivity problems.
Constructive comments/suggestions/criticisms are welcome
Cheers.!!!
