I have been using InoculateIT v4.53 on my office PC for more than a year now. At home, I use Mcafee, and I love it.
InoculateIT is one of the dumbest Antivirus softwares I have ever come across. The only reason why my office uses it is probably because it is much cheaper than Mcafee or Norton.
Compared to the latter two, the detection rate of InoculateIT is very less. In fact, I have seen it fail with EICAR.com as well. For those who are not aware, EICAR is a test file available for download from the internet which is not actually a virus but is supposed to trigger your Antivirus. This way, you know if your software is working as should be.
InoculateIT offers weekly updates for its software, but no emergency support or patches as available from Mcafee or Norton.
Even in the rare case, where it has succeeded in detecting the virus, it has failed to clean or even delete the files properly. Norton is far ahead in this matter.
My verdict...
Mcafee has a very good detection ratio.
Norton has a very good cleaning capability.
Use a combination of both if possible to get the best protection. Though this may conflict at times, it is better to be over-protected than being pseudo-protected by InoculateIT
