I think it is a month since it opened that I have been there this weekend of 5th July. The entrance looks great. The entry fee is only rs. 50. This is the only good thing about Innovative filmcity.
The shopping stores have not yet opened yet, they are still getting constructed. Very bad is the fact that you have to shell out Rs. 100 for a still camera ticket. This is definitely not worth it.
Only 50% of the attractions have opened so far. The remaining are still getting constructed. The best of all these attractions is the Mirror Maze. It costs 100 bucks! But worth it only once. We found the way out throught hte maze after 10 minutes, and decided not to go out but go back. after another 10 minutes we figured out how to get out. Once you figure out how, it’s less interesting. But worth a one time experience. At this point I would say it is wise to go back home. :-) Cos I wasted my money in all the other attractions.
The wax museum is for 50 bucks and again a waste. Everywhere in the world you get to stand with or near the wax figures and click photos. Not so here. You are not allowed to get within 3 feet of the wax figures. Now that’s a BIG disappointment. Morever most figures were hollywood icons. Okay for me but tell me how many in the indian population know Humphrey Bogart and the beetles in their sargeant Pepper suits? It would be good if we had a few indian celebs also here. No, Gandhi does not count as a celeb. An utter waste, but okay cos it is the closest you can get to such stuff in India. :-(.
I think I should stop writing here, but I shall continue so that you can save your money. Ripley’s believe it or not is not worth Rs. 100. it is worth if the ticket is lesser priced.
The biggest waste of money is the Miniature City. Rs. 50 is not worth it, not ven 50 paise. They have an artificial great wall of china through which you walk through for about 300 meters while hindi songs play in the background. Ugh, how bad can it get? The Eiffel tower is so small and so insignificant, you might miss it if you dont really make an attempt to find it. Niagara falls is worse than anything man made you have seen. This place is not worth even free.
Dino world is okay, had fun clicking pics there.
Fossil world is daylight robbery, even at 25 bucks, I is a definite waste. there are only 6 to 7 exhibits in a small room, that’s all.
I didnt visit the artificial beach, but I think it is just a pool with a wave generator and some sand thrown in around the pool. Not worth 150 bucks.
The food in the food court is bad, all stalls here are run by amateurs and as costly as the food is bad. More bad than anything is the fact that a picnic basket is not allowed inside the filmcity (unlike wonder la).
My advice, wait till the movie screens come, the shopping opens. Then this place is worth a drive to get away from the city but make sure you visit only the mirror maze.
Give me Wonder La anyday. I can visit Wonder La many times to get a thrill on the high rides. But the attractions at Filmcity, just a waste of money.
