After reading many reviews on MS, I was reluctant to take the turn towards Innovative Film City at Bangalore (actually 30minutes drive from the city). But my dear wife put her foot down and off we went with our 1 year old young lady on a nice Sunday afternoon. Something made me take only the entry fee ticket (Rs 50each) and not the package (Rs 399 and Rs 699). Also note that children over 3 years are charged, which I think is too young!
No hassles getting the tickets and entry with the pram and food for our kid. The first stop was the “teddy bear museum”, which our kiddo loved and really is a good place for 1-3 year olds. But I am still wondering about the name.
A few empty buildings and 30 degree slopes/steps later we came to the “mirror maze”, which we skipped since the pram was not allowed. More attractions followed and we went into Cartoon city (did not figure out what it is), Double Decker Carrousel (a nice merry-go-round), Wax Museum (good one), Ripley’s believe it or not (some amazing, some boring and some hilarious instances recorded) and Jurassic Museum (yaaaawwwwnnn….). We skipped most amusement games and beach due to the crowd or since our kid was too young.
There are a few shopping places, but it is better to keep off them. Prams and wheel chairs are not allowed everywhere, but the park can be negotiated easily with pram/wheel chairs. A couple of places are a little trouble due to incline or steps.
This was followed by lunch at McDonalds (which really is good… shortage of space though) and Café Coffee Day (CCD) express (we did not dare to enter the completely deserted CCD outlet). All this was completed in around 4 hours.
Our final take on Innovative Film City… is it bad. Not really. Yes it is not Disney World, but it is a reasonable place for half a day for small family or one full day with many friends. Do not have any expectation and you will have a good time. I would suggest that you choose the Rs 50 entry fee and pay and have fun at individual attractions. There are many things that are yet to come and may be in the ext few years it will be a little better.
