Disappointment

Disappointment

I had high hopes…loved the title…had a good feeling about the writer.

But, as happens often enough in life (wonder why I haven’t gotten used to it though), I was DISAPPOINTED!

The book was written in an uninteresting fashion, the characters are very filmy (typical Indian guy with American sidekick with a lame sense of humor, the Indian hating Indian settled in America), and I finished with a feeling that the book wasn’t a coherent whole. It wasn’t integrated properly somehow. The book was full of clichés…all American girls want to get laid, all right-off-the-plane Indian boys are dumb, rednecks, etc.

My face would have been frozen in perpetual disdain if the book would have lasted 10 minutes more. The good thing is it can be finished in just under an hour (if you average 40 wpm).

The only saving grace is the letters the protagonist sends home to his family in India.

It’s a forgettable book, a waste of time…
