Well I am sure by now all of you who must be reading all the reviews written before me about the Iqara now (YOU broadband service) about the pathetic quality of service they provide to its customer.
Iqara was the worst and will always be the worst broadband service provider and I am sure it won’t survive for long. The big dreams of his CEO E V S Chakravarty, would soon shattered down when he comes to know that his company is going to be soon locked up after loosing all its customer.
Let me begin with my story…. I had iqara connection about 2 years back, at that time I opted for a 150 MB prepaid connection in which the installation was free since it was a promotional scheme, I was told by their sales person that the connection would be done in 2 day but even after a month the cabling was not done. After around 2 months my connection was finally started. Since I was in a shared modem scheme and the electricity for the modem was used from my meter hence the sales person had promised me of 25 MB every month, but it never got credited to my account and when I called the call center they told me it was 20 MB and not 25 MB, By now 4 months had passes and only once the 20 MB was credited to my account, I made several calls to the call center but still I wasn’t credidted so finally I got pissed off and I took my Local Cable operator connection.
Recently after 2years if disconnection there was a promotion campaign done by iqara in my colony and decided to given them a second chance. So I took DT100 scheme which was the lowest scheme just to see whether they have really improved or still the same stupid and dumb, I continued with my local cable operator also and so I had 2 connections, But shockingly my night mares about iqara were true, again this time I paid check of 362 in June and my connection was done on 18th July 2006, since It was a post dated scheme I was billed from 29th June even when my cablings were not done , regarding this I spoke to Mr.Vivek in goregaon office and he said not pay the July months bill since it was started late, I was still able to access the internet in July and hence I made some downloads since I was under the impression that it was a free month for me and even the iconnect was not showing me any MBs used or remaining for the next 2 days but in August my connection was disconnected and I got a Bill of amount 1300 Plus, after that this long chain of phone calls started .
These were my issues,
1) at the time of connection the sales person told me that I can use my own modem and that I don’t have to pay for Modem rent, but even though the technicians did not connect my modem and instead connected my cable to other persons modem and I was billed the rent for the modem.
2) I had to make several calls to the technical person and finally I reached the head of the technical department Mr. Arvendhu and he was very rude on the call and asked me to pay 250 extra for the cabling if I want to use my own modem. I said I was told by the sales person that I can use my own purchased modem and he didn’t mentioned any charges like this, so I was rudely asked for the receipt number of the deposit I had made, since I was not at home I didn’t had the receipt with me, I went back home and call him back and provided the receipt number to him. It took next 3 days after that call (a total of around 30 days to get my modem provisioned on their network so that it can get online).
3) But even after the modem was provisioned my problems were not solved now my account had been suspended because of the payments for that I had to call vivek again and again but he couldn’t do anything and this time he changed his statement by saying that he had not made any such commitment of waiver of the July months bill and that I had to pay for the extra MB’s I used in the July, this shows that Iqara people cannot be trusted and every commitments they make on the phone should be recorded and every transactions done with them should be on written paper.
4) Finally I had to speak with the Bombay in charge Mr. Vijay who was as helpless as Vivek was and I really doubt whether he was really a Bombay in charge and if he was then why was he not able to do the wavier since even he knew that I was right, I was ready to pay 500 Rs even though it wasn’t my fault but still insist me on paying 1000 Rs to get the connection started, and I wont pay it since I know I am right, more over they billed me for the month of August even when my connection was suspended at that time,
5) Lastly I was billed 106 Rs every month as modem rent but the truth was I kept my modem in a common box made on terrace where other modems were also placed and the iqara technician take away their modems and instead connected all the lines into my modem and used my modem to give connection to them and on top of that I was charged modem rent when I had purchased my own modem locally, isn’t this unfair and wrong for a company claiming themselves to be best and a mnc, I really doubt about their big banners .
The company is full of shiit, unprofessional, cheaters, false commitments and I advice to Iqara (YOU telecom) If you really want to change your public image then fire all your staff and employee( including the higher management post and city in charges) and hire some good loyal & customer friendly one.
