I am gonna make a movie - Do Bal. It would be about a boy who wants to be a football superstar in a country madly in love with cricket and is always pushed by his farmer father to play cricket while his mom loves baseball. Jokes apart Iqbal is a good movie. Though I hate cricket the most, I liked the determination of the boy Iqbal who being deaf and dumb wants to be a cricket star. The sentence actually explains the whole story a deaf and dumb boy wanting to be a cricket star, doesnt it? No but it doesnt. You ought to watch the movie for the excitement, the thrill, and the politics which has crept into the cricket industry, yes it has become an industry, hasnt it? Though, Lagaan too was a cricket based movie, but this is something much different. The performance of the lead character playing Iqbal is good, Naseeruddin Shah needs no introduction to good acting, he always has been the best. The girl playing Iqbal’s sis (much better than the role she used to do in some sidey soap opera) has also done a good job. There are some pulse arousing scenes as well, the audience actually applauded and clapped for these. I wish I too was a cricket fan to have enjoyed this movie more. (Only for this movie)
