CAST
Iqbal has Shreyas Talpade (playing the protagonist of the film), Naseeruddin Shah (the veteran actor), Shweta Prasad (the Makdee girl) and............ Kapil Dev (psst.... this is a secret!). And yes, if you are reminded of Kapil Dev’s role in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, (where there was no purpose of introducing him) you are in for a surprise!
Nagesh Kukunoor will once again try to convince the audience with this very ’’hatke’’ film. (like all his other movies)
STORYLINE
Iqbal is the story of a young boy (Iqbal) who lives in a small village (Rampur). To be a very successful cricketer and be selected in the national team is his only ambition in life. Like any other masala hindi movie, Iqbal, too faces a lot of opposition from his family and the other villagers. His sister (Shweta Prasad) has full faith in Iqbal and always encourages him to go ahead with his dream. Naseeruddin Shah plays a village drunkard in whom Iqbal sees the only ray of hope.
With the help of this drunkard and his sister, Iqbal is able to overcome the hurdles of life and inch closer to his dream.
Iqbal is not only a story about cricket but also of the battles one has to fight to come out as a winner in the game of life.
Though the trailors don’t have any major soundtrack, (other than ’’ek aasha.....ek aasha.......’’) Sukhwinder Singh promises to churn out some good music once again.
All in all, a good movie to watch out for.
