I tried sharp at 10:00 am to book tatkal tickets from Bangalore to Mumbai today and for good half an hour I tried to load main login page and couldn’t get through. Every time I got the message "Service not available", at last after trying so hard I logged in. And that is it. I was not able to go beyond that. It just unloaded again for no reason.
IRCTC claims that there are too many hits and hence the website is down.That is completely a sick reason. Its almost impossible to book online tickets under Tatkal. I am not sure why have they given the online facility of tatkal if it doesn’t work at all.Very frustrating. I asked one agent and he said he can book the tatkal ticket for me online and he will charge Rs.1000 per ticket and I had to book 3 tickets. He was sure that he can book confirmed tatkal tickets.That means I have to pay Rs. 3000 just to agent for doing nothing but book the tickets online.
I am not sure how agents can have such good facilities to book tatkal tickets online when we can’t , IRCTC have launched shopping site. Please guys, upgrade you current infrastructure and then expand you business. How come people from all over the world can login onto the Facebook, they certainly have more hits than any other website. So its not number of hits, its the Infrastructure problem. What railway is doing all these years when they already know the problem, I am sure its not fund issues. So what is it?
