Though most people prefer to book railway tickets online for their long journey but not all are lucky to get it done. I tried myself but it didn’t work for me as I wanted to book a ticket from Mumbai to my hometown but it was unsuccessful for me.
I had booked ticket 3 months back from now in the early morning when site was accessible to book ticket and that time it was showing 25 tickets were available for 3 tier AC but when I finished my booking & payment was done then it showed me the status of WL. I know there are many users across India who used to access this site at the same time and thats why the site was never works smoothly. It provides all the useful information regarding our journey but if you look at the design then you will realize that its like 1970’s design model with so many advertising on the main page.
I have observed many times even heard the same from many of my friends that the site is never accessible for the first time, we have to keep trying inorder to book a ticket. The worst part is its login criteria which is I think is the baba-adam technology that these guys are still following. It never allowed you to register easily, so many parameters involved in the registration process. These guys should keep it simple as it will be easier for their users to access the site & book tickets. Also most of the time the site remains down specially in the seasonal time when everyone keep trying to book tickets online and in India there is no other site from which you can book railways tickets except this one.
The server speed is very poor as it can’t get the load & preform better in peak time, most of the time, site keeps loading & won’t show any result. Also its change password functionality is not working fine, have tried many times in the past for changing my account password but at the end I needed to deal with reset my password.
The site is really very useful & it helps a lot for all of us to book ticket for our long journey by just sitting in our home and avoid the long long queue but the site should be optimized as if can not bare the load of multiple user at any given point of time then what’s the use of giving so many facilities, its useless.
