Well to begin with let me really give a practical and honest rating against what I have given on the top by clicking on the rating scale:
1) Service and Support: Hopeless. you are blessed if these support people really look at ur problem and get the things right for the users.
2) Webpage load time: If this is for speed of webpage loading than the readers pls experience urself at anytime and u will be enlightened.
3) Design / Usability: Thanks to the private company engineer who have did something for the government dumboos for designing the website.
OK now my experience with the website - I wanted to book a tatkal ticket from Vapi to Mumbai for 31st October, 2011 and I checked the availability status of Tatkal on 28th October, 2011. I found that in some trains the Tatkal for 31st October was already ful and it was showing regret. Thinking that there may be change in the Tatkal booking rule I checked the information at indianrail.gov.in and there I found that Tatkal can be book two days prior after 8 A.M. Fine, so if I need to book for 31st October, I need to book at 29th October after 8 A.M. Well, surprised with already full Tatkal before it was opened for booking in few trains, thinking of some technical fault I thought of trying on 29th October after 8 a.m for booking of 31st October trains.
I woke up early morning on 29th October, 2011 and after getting ready with every details required to do a booking for me and my family, I logged in at irctc.co.in. I kept on checking the status in various trains and again magic. magic. the tatkal seats were reducing in some trains before the tatkal booking were actually open. Fine controlling my frustration, I waited for the tatkaal to open at 8 a.m. Fine the minutes needle in my wall clock passed the number 12 with small needle at number 8 still the tatkaal was not open for us to book. I checked the time in my computer and it was 8:05 a.m and still the tatkaal reservation for 31st October was not open. Agains assuming that there may be problem in the timing of the website I checked the time online and it was more than 8 a.m. again surprise. the seats for 31st october were reducing at gr8 pace and when I was trying to open tatkal booking for 31st october, a message used to pop up saying tatkal booking is allowed only after 8 a.m. thanks mamtaji and indian railway. may be for world the indian time will be 8 a.m but untill ur office says its 8 a.m we will not have to accept the fact. Anyway, eventually the time was 8:35 a.m still the booking was not opened for the common people and the seats availability was reducing with a rocket speed. At around 8:45 A.M, the book button became visible for the availabity on 31st October. but almost all the trains seat were full. May be the brokers and railway employee had got mercy on us and threw few seat for dogs like common public to take. It was a damn frustrating, degrading and horrible experience sitting there in front of computer and being made fool of ourselves. These railways booking department and irctc.co.in administrator are shamelesly & openly making money. How can they do like this.
The railway should be privatise, atleast their drone like employees will start working with some ethics. Cmon man. its high time now. The railway department has no competition and they are degrading the common people like this.
Thanks to congress government, it has made corruption and looting as the birth right of the govenrment servant including all those ministers.
