Yes I was gone away from MS… but well not away from the lovely friends
I made here! And when I noticed that there was need, I planned to
return back!!!
Of late, SO many forwarded mails and M2Ms etc are being generated by
some of the best members of the site. Someone’s not happy about the
contest results, someone’s annoyed of being banned, the others hate
the fact that MS does not let healthy criticism flow in, etc. etc.!!!Now, Now… since I have been away from the site, I hardly know what the latest developments here have been. But I know just ONE thing... if my friends say there’s something wrong… there IS
something wrong!
Well though not so old, but I have had my share of experiences at MS,
and I believe I am old enough to discuss The Steps Of Evolution at MS…
Step I… Introduction to MS – Just as a regular net surfer, you come across a review written on something called "Mouthshut".we reach the website.
Step II… One Month Later – Having written some 10 Reviews and having gotten a lot of appreciation from co-writers, quite many M2Ms have started flowing in. From writers, who’s reviews completely boggled your head and you were impressed out of bounds to those who have just joined MS and so are looking for help to guide them on the website. So u feel you are becoming a part of "THE FAMILY"!
Step III… Three Months later – Jasmine’s email, she wants to make me aSTAR WRITER????!!! WOW and it feels as if no one was EVER sent that mail except for me. So there’s a quick reply. And the next thing youknow is that your picture is being displayed at the website’s homepage!
Step IV… Ups and Downs – You are amongst the TOP writers on thewebsite. Your reviews receive some 60-100 comments and you have made friends with like-minded people. Reading other writer’s reviews addsto your own knowledge and its no more just a hobby! And then… suddenly one day you see that another writer has copied a review that your co-writer had written!!! Now what? Write to Faisal, Jasmine, etc. etc.etc. But no response? So you just forget it thinking its ok, why should I bother, its some one else’s review.
StepV… Realization Dawns - Its now that you realize that all this time when you were merry making at the website, making friends and becoming family and blah blah, someone somewhere is messing up.you had read others complaining about the fact that the pics are not secure and stuff, but then MS is a good site and brainy people visit is, and surely none of them would be interested in your pics!Besides you are still basking in the glory of being a STAR WRITER!!!And then… you receive a mail on your personal mail account, with your picture attached there and it reads …" you look cool!" Ok you avoid, what can you do! And you think it doesn’t matter. Then next day another mail from that same un-recognizable id, your pic there, messedup to certain extent, (to a large extent for a person like me) and the mail reads… "can you even guess what all I can do to this?!!" NOW WHAT??? A mental battle to trace where did this pic come from??? And the only place where this pic was displayed to ANYONE EVER is Mouthshut.com!!!There’s hardly anything that you can do to avoid this. You may try to disable the pic to be viewed, it wouldn’t go. Try to put another pic, but the original one would display at the home page. Who do u go to with all this mess? Best is you simply stop visiting the site, youcannot complain coz the website’s not responsible for it, all you can do is, "forget it" once again!Now that’s when you forget the website as well, its lead you to a lot of tension and worry as to who could have done such a thing? And whatelse could he/she do? Doubt your friends! Doubt anyone and everyone!But then there’s no solution!Although most of us have been through this kind of disillusionment, some faced it personally and others became involved into it, but there’s not much you can do about it!
I was very fond of MS unless such a pathetic event happened, sincethen at every step, every now and then I have faced realities about the website which have totally disillusioned me. I never intended to write anything here ever again… but I am doing this only so that theMS team takes a message and before removing my review from the site, takes note of the underlined message! So that no one goes through sucha thing!
We writers at MS consider MS much more than just a web site, and its quite crazy to remove our reviews and block ids if we try to make MS abetter place by just asking the officials to amend a few things!
