I went for an exhibition of kitchen and furniture fair near university on 28/9/09 which was the last day.Shopped for a folding stool from the exhibition from ECOSCAPES which is a store in Ishanya and they gave me a defective piece.Reached home only at 7pm.
Phoned ecoscape store at ishanya mall as soon as I got home as the exhibition grounds would have been shut and realized I was rooked and was told by them I had to go to Ishanya to replace it which was not possibleWas told we will contact you tommorrow..Having undergone a brain tumor surgery am not allowed to travel alone for atleast 1 yr.
I requested a neighbour to go with me to the store since I was unable to travel alone but she said not possible and let them deliver to you or let them pay transport costs.She spoke to them on the phone but they would not relent and were adamant on not delivering.HAD GONE FOR THE EXHIBITION WITH MY FRIEND BY CAR WHO WAS NOW OUT OF STATION..Poor service by them least interested and once the money was pd they were not interested He took ages to make the bill and was trying to rope in other clients as well so was not able to check the product showed me one thing and packed another piece which I was not aware of and since my friend was waiting near another store I was also in a hurryas I thought if we loose each other it would bedifficult to find her.
Shopkeepers at Ishanya when I spoke to them again the next day behaved very high handed and refused to help. Told me to go to Ishanya or alternately to go to Katraj at 9.30 -10pm or Budhwar peth where some man wld exchange for me, which was not possible.When I said Katraj is on the way passing my residence one man from the shop who lived at Katraj agreed to deliver to my res. but wanted petrol money.Having no choice I agreed.He brought the replacement on his day off and took rs.50 from me, instead of them paying me I had to pay him.He admitted it was an earlier defect on inspecting the item , ( the material had holes)so shoudnt they pay me?why should defective goods be at an exhibition in the first place.?
Item cost was rs.450/ transport cost rs.300 so it wld be very unprofitable for me as total cost would be rs.800.Very high handed staff no apologies or compensation.Instead I had to pay rs.50/-.Abroad even if u buy a 1 dollar item and it is defective they replace at ur residence with apologies and compensation as they value the customer.Here it is the opposite. I give this store a zero rating. REQUEST ALL CUSTOMERS TO BEWARE.PLEASE AVOID SHOPPING AT ECOSCAPES.
