Habib Faisals Ishaqzaade is a total Indian Romeo-Juliet types movie but with a few twists in the middle and a little different setting. But the gist is the same - two people of different religion and families which hate each other fall in love, marry and in the end kill each other because of their true love. Only, Ishaqzaade is much more dramatic. None of the scenes were very beautiful or okay-to-watch-it-many-times kind of scenes, though the plot remains interesting.
The story : Arjun Kapoor (Parma) , the grandson of Chauhan, who is contesting for the post of MLA and Parineeti Chopra(Zoya) , whose father is in the elections belong to families which are sworn enemies and hate each other absolutely. While canvassing for votes, Zoya slaps Arjun for peeing on her fathers poster. Parma asks for Zoyas forgiveness and finally ends up in wooing and marrying her. After spending the suhag raat with her, Parma leaves her saying that it was all just a revenge on his side for the slap Zoya had given him. Also, Parma distributes the photos of Zoya getting married in a Hindu way (Zoya is Muslim and Parma is Hindu) and disgraces her and her family which leads Arjuns grandpa to win the election. This leads Zoyas father to end all relationships with her.
Later, Zoya escapes her house to kill Parma but she is stopped by Parmas mother who, first hits Parma for doing this and then tells Zoya to turn Parma into a human from an animal. OParmas family comes to know that Zoya is in their house and search for her. In this process, Parmas mother is kiled. His mom tells him to save Zoya and love her .Parma takes Zoya to Chand( call-girl type of thing) and hides her there. Then they fall in love and get married. Meanwhile, Parma and Zoyas families gang up and decide to kill the two love-birds. In the end, Zoya and Parma take each others lives for the sake o their love.
The music by Amit Trivedi is splendid and youll fall in love with it. The actors do total justice to their characters. Arjun Kapoor has done great job and Parineeti Chopra is really lovable even though ger character is gusty.
Overall, Ishaqzaade is a worthwhile watch.
