I could not wait to watch It, the best Stephen King novel I have read so far. I dont think this movie was ever made for cinema, but I could grab a copy of the tv film. The novel made me stay up for many nights after I read it. Unfortunately, the movie failed to do so. As one would expect from a TV movie (not true anymore though), it seems a low budget affair. Acting of main characters was bad, stroy deviated from the novel on couple of occassions, probably to fit the mammoth novel into a 3 hr+ movie, plus they had to tone it down to suit tv audience. In spite of all these shortcomings, the plot is so strong that one can not do much injustice to it. I remember watching a tv serial inspired by this movie in India. It was called Woh. I could not get much chance to see it. It was again a cheap take at a great work, but even that was sufficient to scare the audiences enough. The plot is a really innovative and induces genuine horror, and as it unfolds, it gets more and more scary. The end was not as that great though (at least in the movie). But overall, I would recommend anyone, who has any appreciation for horror genre to watch this movie.
