Sometimes I used to miss my old camera and the good old roll. It meant a visit to the nearest photo shop walla because till the roll was developed, photos could not be viewed. Atleast, we had a copy of all the photos taken or rather had to take them and maintained albums for them.
The advent of Digital Camera or digicam as it is known, made me lazy. It was such a pleasure to take pics, delete the ones you don’t want, keep the ones you want and the best place to keep them was your Computer’s desktop. However, taking prints of these files was a hassle.
Putting them in a pen drive or cd, going to the photoshop, explaining how you wanted to get the photos done seemed to me a very boring task. So the photos remained in the desktop of the Computer. I missed the paper part but then it was ok and I was content to show a slideshow of the pics to whoever was interested! But I always missed the good old paper prints.
And then came itasveer. Actually, it was recommended to me by someone. iTasveer, is an online photo shop and has been in operation since April 2006. It was set up by four IIT Delhi alumni and the operations are run from Gurgaon, Haryana.
Well, so the site had options of upload directly from the computer, or from Picassa and Flickr. I had already uploaded all my photos on Picassa and it was very easy to import these files on itasveer. I also got to add captions to my photos and that was the real fun part. One also has the option of going for the glossy look or the matte look depending on preference. The delivery is normally on time. The quality of the prints is pretty good.
Once I remember, they floated a scheme on Rakshabandhan, wherein you could design your own Rakhi. I designed a rakhi and put my brother’s best pic along with mine on the face of the rakhi. My brother tells me that it was the best and most personalized Rakhi which he had received till date.
The site offers a lot of fun products and also gives you an opportunity to get creative with your photos. Its a place where one can upload photos, share them, create collages, calenders, greeting cards, mugs, t-shirts, photobooks and more. And printing was never so easy. The products are shipped all across India. The website also offers discounts from time to time to its members and if the coupon codes are used properly, the same can save some bucks. Mostly these dicounts are offered on festive occassions and sadly I have never been able to take benefit of the same.a
Also, on every order of more than 40 prints, they send photo albums to store where one can store their pics. Prints can also be mounted though mounted prints are slightly on the expensive side.
I would recommend itasveer.com for the sheer easiness with which our photos are printed and delivered right up to our doorsteps and the creativity the website offers to its users to work on their photos.
I only hope that they reduce the shipping charges which appear to me to be on the higher side, otherwise photo printing and that too the way you want it to be, was never so easy.
