Love is all about feeling close with someone and who can be closer to U than a best friend.
Love is not about finding the right person. It is about identifying him\her. You might have found your soul mate but what is important is identifying him\her. Finding wont help until and unless you identify him\her. Till the time you identify him\her, you will keep seeking. Identify him\her and you will stop seeking.
Till we find someone, we are in constant search for that special someone in our lives. But what happens when we find him\her? Does it flashes like a lightening? No it doesnt. Then how do we know that we have actually found him\her and now what is left to be done is just identifying him\her?
Thoughts like these will flash your mind when you will watch Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na as this is what exactly happens with Jai aka Ratz (Imran Khan)and*
Aditi aka Meow(Genelia D Souza).*
Simply put, its a sweet love-story which is quite predictable. But what makes
it stand out in the crowd is its capacity to offer certain things which were
refreshing and quite welcoming. Lets see what were those things rather than
briefing the story itself.
.....:::::Starcast:::::.....
It brought a layer of freshness with it. The cute couple did full justice to
their roles and they make it look as if the role was tailor-made for them.
Their girl-next-door and boy-next-door looks made the characters look so
believable and charming.
The love-story could have been much better. There was nothing credible
about the story or its intensity. But what makes it click with the
audience is the excellent work done by the characters. They have made
this mundane story look quite brilliant and distinguishing.
The friends group consists of 3 boys (Rotlu, Jai, Jiggy) and 3 girls (Bombs, Shaleen, Aditi).
Rotlu(Karan Makhija) is typical fatty boy in the group there is nothing cool about him. But despite that, he is important for the group. There is nothing heroic about this character but still his role as a part of the group, which is so real-life, makes him a pleasant watch.
Jai(Imran Khan) is a guy who is against any violence and lives with his mom(Rachna Pathak Shah).
Aditi(Genelia Dsouza) *is a very voilent yet sensitive girl. She gets depresed when her cat dies and gets into a fight mode when someone says rubbish about *Jai. Her brother Amit is a painter but an ignored one. Brother-sister relationship is exhibited wonderfully by these two characters.
Bombs(Alishka Varde) is a typical fatty girl in the group but as important as any other member.
Jiggy(Nirav Mehta) is a typical gujju boy with the accent that is peculiar to Gujjus.
Shaleen(Sugandha Garg) is a smart girl in the group.
Their bonding, the parties, their teasing will not remind us of Dil Chahta Hai, but it will remind us of our college days or our own group of friends.
.....:::::Genelia:::::.....
She is the heart of the movie. She managed to look cute, charming,
girl-next-door. If that was not enough, she came out with flying colors as far
as the acting is concerned. Perfect exhibition of each and every emotion - be
it her excitement, her sadness, her anger, her jealousy. Whatever emotion she
expressed it came out as natural as it could have been. I would say impeccable
is the word.
She comes out as a star performer.
.....:::::Comic elements:::::.....
Although it is a simple love story of friends turning into lovers, the way it
has been unfolded is quite different than what we have seen till now. The whole
movie is sprinkled with comic elements which are not typical comedy one-liners.
But this is a type of comedy which will remind you of your circle of friends -
your group, the masti, flirting, teasing you all had.
For instance, Naseerudins scenes (Jais dead dad) in the movie will make you
think that what the hell. This is so stupid to show such stuff in a movie like
this. Its like trying to throw in the extra scenes to give longevity to an
otherwise short story. But that is what will go inside your mind while your
heart is busy rejoicing the scene.
This is exactly what Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is all about.
.....:::::Music:::::.....
Music by AR Rehman never needs any elaboration. His name itself is
enough to express what its music is like. The songs have not only been picturized
well but are also well-timed.
"Pappu cant dance saala" has a reason behind it. Watch it to find out.
.....:::::My Verdict:::::.....
I loved so many things about the movie but as for the movie I would say that I
liked it but couldnt love it. But yes I enjoyed it. Although can’t say that
its the best of the love stories but still I loved the comic sense that was
thrown into the movie, loved the music as well... and above all.. loved Genelia
a lot.
~~~I want to end this review with a beautiful song from this movie~~~
Kahin to.. kahin to.
Hogi woh
Duniya jahan tu mere saaath hain
Jane na kahan woh duniya hai
Jane na woh hai bhi ya nahi
Jahan meri zindagi mujhse
Inti kafa nahi
*There might be some place in this world where you are with me. Where
this place is I have no idea? Does it exists or is it a neverfinding land, where my life is not angry with me?
