Writing a review after almost eight months is quite difficult but after listening to the songs of this album I decided to write. You just write down the word CopyCat in a music review and the reader easily guesses about whom one is talking ………. Yes it is Anu Malik. After a long long time Anu Malik provided a score that really can be called as a score. You keep melody intact and use right instruments as per the need the end result is a cool album. That is what Anu tried in this album and is successful by all means. Lets get into the album and see how I found this a cool addition to my music library.
Humko Maloom Hai
Sonu Nigam Sadhna Sargam
Believe me when I first heard the song in a trailer on Channel [V] I thought it is A R Rehman’s but later on when I have seen credits by Anu Malik I was just stunned that Anu Malik this time copied the style of Rehman. My confusion was removed when I read the review by Suresh that it is G V Parakash who is Rehman’s nephew and music arranger for Jaan E Mann. One thing is clear that the song is so original that it still not found on any other music director’s credits or even from Anu Malik himself. So fresh feeling that one cannot forget the song after listening 2-3 times. It is super melodious and orchestration is so wonderful that can only be described in one word SUPERB. Sonu is awesome and Sadhna provides you a fresh feeling as she do in her previous songs. The song is not only wonderfully arranged but the use of flute is so perfect that if you love instrumental you would want this in flute. Especially the ending notes of the song with a grand orchestra setup and chorus provides an emotional touch in it. Simply a perfect number. Naughty and peppy lyrics by Gulzar Sahab also provides a spicy touch to the song.
Jaane Ke Jaane Ne
Sonu Nigam, Sukhwinder Singh & Krishna
Qawali style and comic lyrics makes the song change from others though the song is good but it is an instant song which will not last forever. This song ensures Anu Malik’s style and now you can easily distinguish his music. Sonu is good accompanied by Sukhwinder and Krishna. You see the video of this song which is quite interesting. The song is repeated with a remixed version. If you have liked the original you must be loving the remixed version as it further increases the pace of the song. In the end a good effort by the whole time.
Ajnabi Shehar
Sonu Nigam
Flute starts this song and with the very first hearing I am loving to listen this song. Sonu is awesome and Anu Malik is out of this world while composing this song 100 out of 100 so perfect that you cant find a single negative point in this song. Soothing and energetic vocal by Sonu provides you a feel of enthusiasm in the song the Sonu says “Kya Yeh Aap Ka Aap Ka Khayal Hai” is simply cool. Grand orchestra setup for this song and you will found this song one of the best from Anu as well as for this years topper.
Sau Dard
Sonu Nigam
Sonu again with some murdering expressions of voice in this song I have never found such versatility in any singer after Rafi Sahab. Sonu entertains with this sad mode song as well. Again you must provide credits to Anu Malik to make such unique composition which is not only a great achievement for Anu but a treat for music lovers as well. I guess either of the songs Hum Ko Maloom Hai and Sau dard are derived from each other. Most probably the song Hum Ko Maloom is derived from Sau Dard. In the end it is the one of best I have heard. Its groove mix is also provided in the album and that is just a change of mode of the song but cannot match the original song in any respect.
Udh Jaana
Kunal Ganjawala, Sunidhi Chauhan and Adnan Sami
A rap style song and will be popular among restricted audiences. An average song with some meaningful https://lyrics. But it can be said as the weak link in the album. Anu Malik tried hard to to mix the genre of the song with Jazz and Rock Shores but not actually hit the chords this time. Even more faster is the remixed version of this song and will also be restricted when would try to find audience.
Kubool Kar Le
Rahul Vaidya, Amit Sana , Prajakta Shukre Monali Thakur and Suzanne
I doubt this time the originality of this song. Where when how this song is picked I am still confused but heard before feeling is with me while I am listening this song. The song will be loved only if the video will be nice. In between the song also reminds of Anu Malik’s some old songs. In the end an OK type of number. New comers are wasted in the number but they got a chance to work with one of the top MD in Indian Music Industry that will be an honour for them.
With last two numbers just average the song doesn’t loses the beauty of the other songs and we can overlook the last two songs and can safely have the album in our music libraries. Anu Malik must be appreciated for his efforts in this album. Some of the most untouched tunes are provided by him which is really a pride for Anu Malik.
It’s Sana (((((O)))))
