Yash ji leaves with a memorable film - as usual

Yash Chopra’s last film has been like his other films – intensely romantic, lengthy, great locations abroad & in India, musical hits, and simple story. The story starts in 2012 showing SRK defusing bombs fearlessly in the army without any protection & the story goes back in time by 10 years to defuse the mystery to Anushka & the viewers over the 1st half. 10 year in time, SRK is a happy go lucky guy in London who falls in love with Katrina & also wins her over. But Katrina does not go the full length to marriage (but does all other things) because she has a deal with Sir Jesus wherein she trades her love for SRK for his life when he meets with an accident.

A heartbroken SRK leaves London & comes back to India tempting fate in order to proved Katrina wrong. In his new avatar of tempting fate, he meets Anushka who, in many ways, is more like him than Katrina ever was. But, he deliberately keeps off her because his mind is with Katrina & he thinks he is a generation older. Anushka gets to film her project with him & obtains approval from Discovery channel but they need him to come over to London to corroborate the film. The story then takes a twist when he meets with an accident resulting in retrograde amnesia i.e. his mind is back in 2002 with Katrina & he does not remember the next 10 years.  On the doctor’s recommendation, Anushka touches base with Katrina to get back SRK to normalcy. The end comes with SRK regaining his memory & confronting Katrina about her being misled into thinking that God wants them to be separated. Finally, Katrina accepts this logic & it is a happy ending for all. SRK acted like only he can. Anushka has shown she has abundant acting talent once again.

Katrina was helped by the fact that she only had to act as herself. India-Pak bonhomie out of the sub continent was displayed in a true manner. There were moments of tears / emotions & also moments when things were unbelievable / over dramatic. The film has the same pros & cons associated with any other Yash movie but unfortunately he went overboard with the words – ale, b##ch, what the f###. Not sure if SRK realizes he has a great fan following in kids. Am sure the film could have run well even without these words.
