Parameters which a Yash Movie Carries—Characters made out of Actors, sketched forever in a nuance never known, Songs which Melt your Soul, Locales which Make you feel Dreamy and Lost and most of all an Intense Passion which Speaks of Love Beyond Time, Tide and Births

There would be Comparisons for sure, what YC was to Silsila, Chaandni, Lamhe and many more .People learn to compare, to be cruel, to get stuck in the Clock of Times. So If thats the Point Observed Jab Tak Hai Jaan stands not a Chance. Keeping these away its a Movie which shall not be understood, of Passion, Love Unrequited, Of Waiting, Of Knowing Deep in the Heart that there is Nothing Beyond this Feeling. The One that Burns you Beyond Recognition, Churns your Insides, Keeps you Alive where you would rather be Dead.... and its from that Moment to Another Moment...when you get to see the Face of your Passion Again. Questions which can never Fit A Mindset adopted Today, Why is Somebody’s Life More Important than Living your Own? What is it so Special about Practically Dying Everyday in Hopelessness? Why is it Crucial to your Being to Bring One Smile on That Face?

Few Days back a friend had posted a Scene out of Kabhi-Kabhi—an exchange between Amitabh and Shashi, of sharing the fact that how they love the same Woman, eons, ages and beyond any reasons and excuses, and it left me to wonder when does such Miracles happen? As these two woman standing in front of each other beyond any doubts, reasons, excuses of loving the same Man; neither of them makes you shudder in your soul. Thats what Yashji is, thats what his kind of Love is, its beyond any reasons and excuses--it lies in that simple sentence of Akira telling Meera, she needs to heal him back. Or that Meera telling Akira, that she needs to take a decision on this.

He is not the Usual ShahRukh If you are Expecting Him the Mellowed Lover or the Obsessive One of Past Flicks, With a Touch of Raw Emotion might it be Anger(thats the first thing noticed), Passion and Love, He Wears His Shades to Hide the Red-Rimmed Eyes-- Katrina is typically out of Yash Chopra Movies, A Girl (what Kajol was to DDLJ) Staying Overseas but Carrying Parents’ Agony/Desire in Her Heart-- Anoushka is as Chirpy as She is, Binding the Story, Links Together. If He looks at home in London, doing Odd Jobs, trying to earn a living, making the best of the situation and joking around; Shahrukh looks equally home in the terrains of Leh. In Fact the Overalls, the Lone Tent and Ripped Gloves, its difficult to diminish the harsh lines of the backdrop and his exteriors. Thats Yash Chopra to Us, where the Character is much beyond the Actor himself. At a Point that you look at Katrina and feel ridiculously irritated and still recognise that vulnerability.

Typically there are so many things which would be happening to the movie, it would be type-casted for One, it would be trashed Two, and there would be Comparisons Three. It would be killed and throttled by Cynical Reviewers, and maybe would be Given Life by Some for Yashji’s Old Times Sake. What I fear Most is that Nobody is Going to Look Beyond that ? Nobody will realise that why the Actors were dressed down to their Characters, why overalls and jeans were used, why bare skins were not revealed as they would have been to today’s taste?

Coz Bare Souls needed to be Spoken About.

Coz its a Movie again looking at Love, beyond a Microscope.
