OK, now, the title of the film did not appeal to me because I hate when two languages are mixed together. Just call it ’When we met’ or ’Jab Hum Mile’, whats the need to mix the two languages.Then when the film released, it got positive reviews all over from the crap critics and the ’aam junta’. So I decided I had to see the film ASAP.
The plot of the film is very simple, and I think thats what makes it work. It’s not complicated, and the film flows along.
The music by Pritam is great. Yeh Ishq Hai and Mauja Mauja are superb and the other songs are in sync with the film. The cinematography is also good.Coming onto the best part of the film, the performances. For me, this is Kareena Kapoor’s best ever performance. Some people may say its Refugee or Omkara but I think this is her best so far in her small career. She deserves to get the Best Actress Award, and if some other undeserving freak gets it, then I will be so angry. Shahid Kapoor is also amazing, its his best performance. I don’t know whether he will win the best actor award because of the competition but in this film he has proved his mettle as one of the upcoming stars.
The supporting cast are all very good. Special mention must go to Kareena’s Dadaji who is good. Tarun Arora who plays Anshuman is okay but apart from that, in the end especially, he is hillarious.
Imitiaz Ali should be applauded for making such a nice, refreshing film, lets hope we see more good films like this.
