Jabalpur trip was one of my most unplanned trips. We, that is, me, my sister and some of my MBA friends had planned a trip to Bandhavgarh but thanks to my sisters persuasive skills :) we included Jabalpur in our itinerary. We landed in Bandhavgarh and decided that we could manage Jabalpur as well & good we did that. We took about 6 hours to reach Jabalpur by road (from Bandhavgarh). The marble rocks are really worth a trip. They take you to a completely different world. The guide for our boat trip was very entertaining but hardly knew anything informative about it. He was an expert in Bollywood and kept us entertained with his funny dialogues. Though a more knowledgeable guide would have helped:( We also visited a temple - Chaunsath Yogini Temple that dates back to the 12th century. One has to climb around a 100 steps to reach that temple but it is really-really worth it. There are 64 figures of associates of Goddess Durga that surround the main temple. The main temple has Shiv and Durgas images. There are other figures that surround the temple as well. It has quite a character. Must visit this temple if you are going to Jabalpur. Dhuandar falls is also worth a visit.
