Yes you are right, I was skeptical. What would happen if I place an order of an important product for an important occasion in my life. The product which I am going to wear for my engagement.
As usual I did a market research physically at stores, shopping malls and I decided to buy a pair of shoes "Red Tape" or "Franco Leone". Since I already had my heart on a specific style of shoes and certain brand, the question before me was to find the best deal for the same product. I looked in "Metro", Shoppers Stop, Life Style and confirmed if a good deal exist in any of the store in city. Unfortunately everyone had a full n fixed price for this product. Option before me was to explore a best deal online for this product.
Just to clarify here and to solve your query, I selected two shoes with a first priority to Red Tape and second to Franco Leone. Here I had two options either to go for Myntra for the product of Franco Leone or to go for Jabong for the product on my first priority. The irony was none of these product was available on other sites and was available in very limited quantity.
As I looked this product on Jabong with a 25% discount coupon, that was the opportunity I was looking for. For your reference and understanding, There is no need for you to have a coupon in hand to buy from Jabong, as there is a number of sites which makes you available these coupons. All you have to do is to identify which among these coupons best suits your requirements and provides you the maximum benefit. I opted one from HDFC Bank providing 25% discount and used its Net Banking to get the benefit. Infact I cross verified with multiple sites to ensure there is none better exist which can further increase my savings.
The Only Problem which I faced with Jabong was: As I proceeded to payment section, I came back in browser to ensure that everything is perfect before placing the order. During this the quantity disappeared from their online portal and as I proceeded with payment section, the error appeared "Out of Stock". Since there was only one quantity of Red Tape with my size "7", the quantity got blocked by Jabong for me to purchase but since I didnt or I couldnt, there was none available for me to purchase.
At first instance it appeared that this got "Out of Stock" because someone else purchased it first. I was disappointed and cursing myself for not to be a fast decision maker. With a sank heart I placed my order with Myntra for Franco Leone as I didnt have time to wait. Time was utmost priority for me. The only good thing that I did was to keep on looking for this product even after I placed the order. And with a good luck it appeared again nearly after 3 hrs of previous failure. With the same bad luck I repeated the mistake and got locked for next 3 hrs:). The only good thing, this time I knew that I had to wait.
For those who are wondering, I cancelled my order on Myntra as soon as I saw the product appeared again on Jabong.
Lets have a closer look at Customer Care of Jabong: Jabong sent me a mail stating that it appeared I failed in a transaction to purchase and if I need assistance, I shall call customer care and I did. But the response didnt get positive. This was communicated to me that the product is Out of Stock and they cant help me until portal is updated again with the product which usually takes 24 hrs. Since time was a crucial factor for me and there was no assurance that product will be back again, I placed my order for my second option. The good thing about Jabong Customer Care is that you dont have to spend lots of time dealing with IVR and call is picked up immediately. Your order failure message appeared immediately, order placed message appeared immediately and kept you up to date for your order on your mobile too. I had discussion with customer care executives 2-3 times during this process and I shall appreciate that they were willing to help. Customer care executives are polite and responsive but lacked knowledge about their methodology of operations, quantity of products and its availability.

The next section to focus upon is Delivery of Product: As earlier stated time was utmost important for me and there was skepticism what if order is not delivered before D Date. All these fears vanished soon enough. After a wait of 3 hrs, the product appeared again on Jabong, the timing was about IST 00:30 hrs. I was awaiting for this moment. I opened the portal and very carefully placed this order. With all the luck, this time I successfully placed the order. I was happy and delighted but frightened what if the only product is not good enough what if that is defective, unusable, what if they send a size different from my size. The early morning at IST 08:30 hrs I missed a call from Jabong Customer Care. I called back and came to know they called me to confirm the order. I didnt understand the purpose of such calls as I already paid the amount through Net Banking. By my delight, As I woke up I got an email and an SMS stating my order has been shipped with a tracking number and a site URL to track it.
The best part of delivery comes when I get a message the very next day that your order is out for delivery and they deliver on Sundays too. Since this was a holiday for me and my shipping address was of my office, I called the Customer Care asking them to tell me the contact number of delivery guy and / or the manager of delivery in my city. Alas! such kind of information is never available with them, though they tried to help me and console me with the statement that they will deliver again.
The good part is that delivery guy calls you if you are not available at your place. And I too received a call but what if you miss that call. Though I was enjoying a movie with earphones, I couldn’t miss my phone vibrating. I explained him the situation and asked him to deliver the product at my home which he readily accepted. I sent him an SMS with my address and my product was delivered to me after 45 mins. The delivery guy was polite which is unusual these days. He asked me, shall he open the package. With my “Yes”, he did and to my delight the product was before me.

Keen Eye for Quality of Product: Since this product was very crucial for me and any minor defect could have spoiled the occasion, quality was an equal priority. And as a matter of fact as he opened I was happy to see it. I expect a brand new shoes but perfection is always unexpected.

My Overall Experience with Jabong: One thing I experienced as part of this purchase is that their customer care is proud of having a self owned courier service and they will keep on reminding you about it. Straight to Online Portal: Before I close this review, I shall take a few words on the portal of Jabong. Though it is easier to search, identify and proceed along with this portal, it has an unusual phenomenon of blocking the quantities which cost me my time and kept me waiting for 6 hrs. I do not see a reason to block the quantity for next 3 hrs.
