Jabra Revo Bluetooth Headset

I used to be an avid user of Jabra products. Till date, I have used a variety of Jabra products. These included earphones, speaker, speakerphone and headset. I am not the only one of course. I love talking about my gadgets. As a result, anything I bought, my social circle namely family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances would automatically hear of it. You could say that to a certain extent I am an influencer. Based on my input, I know of people who have also gone ahead and bought Jabra products, apart from other brand products. The point to note here is that Jabra products are expensive - in fact, prohibitively expensive. Hence, most people may give it a go-by rather than spend so much money on it when equally good products are available at possibly half or even quarter of the rate Jabra products are priced at.

Take for example, the Jabra Elite Active 65t. It is priced around Rs.16, 999/- on https://jabra.in and on other eComm portals around Rs.12, 000/- whereas a good quality BoAt bluetooth Airdopes cost around Rs.2, 500/-. So, it is but natural that a price+ quality conscious customer would wonder which one to go for - Jabra or another alternative like BoAt. The alternatives may not always be in the same league as Jabra but the price more than balances it. Also, it is not as if Jabra products never have complaints. Do a cursory search and you will find the innumerable complaints on its products. Quite a few of them are shocking!

Anyway, I am citing my own experience as an example for potential customers who want to strike a delicate balance between quality and price, somewhat similar to Jabra and BoAt. Be very thoughtful on what you want to buy. Would you be fine buying Jabra for Rs.12, 000/- when a perfectly fine alternative is available around Rs.2, 000/-? May be, you would still choose Jabra. I know I did when I purchased Jabra Revo Bluetooth Wireless Headset for an exorbitant amount of Rs.13, 000/-. I thought it was worth it. My reasons were that it was a well recognised brand and in future, if I needed support for parts / replacements / repairs, it would not let me down compared to an alternative that is known as well as Jabra.

Well, I erred and fabulously! The battery of my Jabra Revo headset ran out sometime back. I wrote to Jabra that I would need replacement of the battery. Guess what, they asked me to take a hike. They could not do anything since they do not have parts. Warranty is limited and device is end of life. Now, may be ordinary customer does not understand legalese. He trusts Jabra would not let him down when he needs it most! To put it bluntly, I felt absolutely cheated. I reiterated that I was prepared to pay for the replacement but to no avail. Basically, this expensive gadget is now absolutely useless even though it was taken with extreme care and looks as good as new!

Now, on hindsight, I feel I never should have bought such an expensive product because this is what it would have turned out to be and it did turn out so! I checked the internet and apparently, there are multitude of complaints about Jabra and its customer service.

Now you at least have the benefit of my experience behind me. When you buy Jabra - beware! Their quality is not so damn high that you need to pay exorbitantly and be cheated later! Best to buy good tested alternatives at half or quarter the cost! This is my advice to you based on my personal experience! I have already communicated this to my family, friends, colleagues, acquaintances and social circle. Now, I am also letting you all nameless persons know! Factor my experience and insight when you purchase an expensive product and then do what you will!
