Jaffer Bhai's DD- Vashi

How to reach -

Located on the road that goes perpendicularly straight from Sanpada Stn( Highway side) to APMC market. near Bhagat Tarachand, MAFCO.

Recently opened about 6 months ago, the get up of the restaurant is still crisp, clean and fresh.  However, the restaurant invariably always reeked mildly of freshly cut onions whenever I went( about 8-10 times)-which turns me down.  The locality surrounding it is not clean, hence you will always find the rolling shutters outside its big glass windows permanently drawn. You need to park your car on the road, as they do not have any private parking.

Now that the bad is done away with, let me tell you why I keep on coming here  inspite of my above diatribe!. F-O-O-D. They have got atleast one thing right- their raison-de-etre- FOOD. Portions are huge. Quality of ingredients used- Good.Taste- Great and authentic.Service- Good and honest.

Their Tandooris are soft, succulent and is not dunked in orange food colour. One of the best tandoori chicken I have ever eaten is here. The Mutton kababs are to die for- Mutton Tikka are tender enough to melt in the mouth. Similarly, their Main Course are authentic-though a cooks are a bit generous in using oil! The Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka are not not sweetened like in Udupi Joints, nor given an overdose of red food colour. The Biryanis are fragrant and good enough( though nowhere near paradise, Bawarchi or Bahar at Hyd!). Biryani comes in two portions, Small and Regular. Small is adequate for 1 person.Regular are for gluttons!

Generally, all mutton preparations are their USP.

Similarly, the Rotis too are fresh and soft.

The menu is quite elaborate, and have a good Chinese selection too( try out their Ckn Mongolian rice-great!).

Desserts include the regular Moghlai fare of Phirni, Pudding etc, but I havent tried them.

Most of the dishes are priced between 100 to 200, and a hearty meal for two should not cost more than 500-600- dessert included! I have also eaten here( meal for two) below Rs 250/-Regular Mutton Biryani with Chichen Cutlet & Mutton Cutlet.

They have few NV snacks like Kheema samosa, Tikka and Cutlet and Farcha, which are priced around Rs 30-50.

Overall, a great place for NV lovers- if you overlook a few grey areas like locality, parking and that onion smell mildly floating inside the AC restaurant( anyway, will get used to the smell in 10 mins.hahaha).
