Jai gangaajal is the sequel of Gangaajal which came in 2003 but it’s not related from it in any form. Priyanka Chopra is playing the role of SP of Bankipur and Prakash Jha is DSP of the same district. Story is that babloo pandey who is the sitting MLA of Bankipur and his brother Dabloo Pandey wants to acquire the land of farmers and other poor peoples for an industrialist to set up a power plant.
But the people are against it. DSP B N Singh(Prakash Jha) also supports the MLA and initially helps him to grab the land. But then Abha Mathur(Priyanka chopra) is made the SP of Bankipur and she starts the action against the MLA and his brother. MLA’s brother dabloo pandey kills a girl who was against the land grab. B N singh becomes angry with this and goes to arrest Dabloo pandey.
But the dead girl’s brother kills dabloo pandey with belt around his neck and this triggers the phenomena of hanging the criminals by the people of bankipur. Police gives the moral support to it. Babloo Pandey becomes very angry after his brother’s death and starts searching for the boy who killed his brother. At last he finds him but Abha mathur manages to rescues him and arrest the MLA. So overall script was good and so was acting. But it seems Prakash Jha is more dominating than Priyanka Chopra in the movie. Compared to Gangaajal(2003), I will rate this movie below it.
