The film jai gangajal is all about SP abha mathur played by priyanka Chopra who is appointed the first female superintendent of Bankipur district. She then goes against the local MLA of bankipur Manav kaul
The district is in the hands of politician Bablu Pandey role played by Manav kaul he is the villain who murder extortion and loot farmers lands. He with the help of a corrupt copBhola nath Singh is Prakash jha and younger brother Dabloo Pandey( Ninad kamat) ride over the local people.
Dablu has his eyes on plot of land of town poor inhabitants.
Prakash jha the director of the movie has played an important supporting role in the film.Manav kaul plays fabulous role.
Priyanka Chopra in police uniform does her best to play the character.she is playing a tough role.
