Poor Management, casual doctor

I visited jaipur hospital a few months ago for general stomach problems. I saw the lady doc there and she was nice to talk to. She advised a few tests. After the reports arrived I got to know I had hormonal problems. I was having hyper thyroid. She immediately asked me to see to Dr. Gupta who would be the specialist for thyroid related issues.

I went to the front desk, paid money. At front desk they asked me to see the nurse first and then she will call me when my turn comes. There was no queue or the system that I could see was in place. After a good wait period(an hour) I stepped into nurse’s room and she said ok you can go now. I was amazed at how casual she was.

I went in to find Dr. Gupta was on a call. He looked at me briefly and kept talking over the phone. After 10 minutes he started talking to me. He couldn’t even finish his sentence and he got another call. I waited further. He turned to me after his call to tell the symptoms. Another call was on its way! I had restlessness on my face now. He observed that and told the caller that he had to talk to the patient. He talked to me briefly and said I shouldn’t worry much its a common problem. He was about to diagnose further and hell! Another call... he kept talking about some pooja and pandit and all stuff that only religious women will talk. He finally said- you should go now, take medicine and come back in a month’s time.

I went back after a month- Same procedure. Pay money, give reciept to the nurse and wait until she calls back.Around the same time one guy walked in with his dad. They waited for 10 mins after which the dad said lets go in.. we cant be waiting like this. And they were going to Dr Gupta. I was there waiting before them. As they walked towards the Doc’s room I followed. But the first patient was stil in. The moment she walked out- this father-son jodhi went in! This nurse or anyone else didn’t stop them.

I kept waiting outside doc’s room... I asked nurse as to why were they let go in when I was before them and she said.. I can’t do anything. (wow! then why are you here for at all? What kind of a hospital is this?).

I kept standing outside the doc’s room and came another elderly couple. Uncle started talking to me and told that its the same scenario here everytime. He had been trying from an hour already. Also doc would get calls and they were asked to go out then. I was shocked to see what a third class attitute this is towards a patient.

Anyway, so I let this elderly couple go in before me. I waited back in the waiting area. After 10 mins I went back to check myself and I was stopped by a ward boy. The doc was busy on a call and he said to send next patient only after 10 minutes. This was a height I thought. But I was wrong. I kept on waiting for 30 mins and I was not called. I then went back and nurse casually said.. oh you are still here? I thought you left. If you were here why didn’t you go to the doc?

At this point I felt like calling police! They harass patients! I really wonder what kind of a treatment do they give to a patient in serious condition? These guys must have been repsonsible for a lot of casualties. I hope they are not this damn horrible with serious patients.

At last I got to see the Doc. A Med. Rep. was sitting in who was not asked to leave the room. I was already very sick of the hospital. Though I wanted to talk to the doc but not in fornt of thsi stranger who was very interestingly hearing my ailments. In 2 minutes I was out of this horrible hospital.

I have now decided I am never going back to hospital and neither would anyone I know. No system, no sense, zero professionalism. Horrible hospital, sick doctor. They need a treatment first.
