Hi ! Soniya,
Your review on Jaipur was very good.
Yes, Jaipur is best explored on foot.
I am going to Jaipur, once a year, since last five or six years.
Well, what a beautiful, neat & clean city !!!!
People are quite laid back out there, no ones in a hurry for anything.
Soniya, your review didnt have more contents on the eateries of Jaipur.
Wait, give me time till Monday, let me see what I can remember and I ll put it up.
Meantime, let me add something I remember at the moment.
Now, the first & the foremost thing which immediately comes to my mind, are the onion kachooris of RAWATS.
This sweet & snacks shop is near the main inter city bus terminus.
Well, these onion kachooris from Rawats is famous all over Jaipur, though, there are numerous sweets shop
selling this item, but they are no comparison to Rawats.
These kachoori, should be had hot, and I think its available the whole day.
Its sooooooo tastyyyyyyy, I want to run to Jaipur now.
Okie, Rawats, also have a sweet kachoori, and a chili kachoori.
These chili kachooris are good too.
Well, I dont remember the price of each kachooris, since I had it in October last year.
If I remember right, I think each of those kachoris was right rupees a piece.
But, worth the money !!!!!!!!
Hey, friends dont miss Rawats Onion Kachoori.
Well, I cant and dont miss it anytime.
Okie, we move on.
Just across Rawats, is KANJI SWEETS.
Man, what lovely sweets.
They are so good, and priced so competitively !!!
Even though, I dont have a sweet tooth, I love their lassi, and raasmalais.
And yeah, just remembered, I once had paani puris also.
Lovely ones.
Mmm, let me remember more.
Did you ever had Saras brand of salty yogurt.
Wow !!! its so lovely.
They are available in small packs, or 200 ml and 500 ml.
Its available , normal i.e.. without salt & with salt too.
Just a reminder, friends, I have been to this Jaipur Dairy,
who makes this yogurt.
What a huge & modern plant do they have.
Its amazing.
On yes, how can I forget Chookhi Dhaani.
Wow!!!!! I just loved this place when I was there last time.
Its an ethnic village resort.
I think one needs to pay around Rs.250/- per head while entering.
Hey, dont get shocked.
Its worth the money.
Well well, you still in a daze probably.
This two hundred and fifty bucks, includes the whole of services, and dinner out there !!!!
Its a steal !!!!!
As you enter, you greeted with Ram Ram Saa, typical way of greeting people in my homestate, Rajasthan.
Okie, once you are in, you can have chaampi under a tree, what a beautiful chaampi you have !
The only chaampi wala who might close in the great Jhonny Walker !!!!!!!!
Next, you can enjoy the live traditional music & dance performances, ride on a camel, go around the mazes
inside the village and there are lot of things to be done.
I also found a whole of foreigners inside too.
One of the striking features of the whole resort was that there wasnt a single tubelight inside the resort !!!!!!!
The resort is gently lit of bulbs which are placed inside a lantern.
The managements have really managed to give this place a village atmosphere.
Here you can even dress up in a traditional Rajasthani dresses and have your photographs taken.
Offcourse you have to pay for this service.
And then comes the dinner !!!!!!!!
Wow !!!!! what a sumptuous meal of traditional Rajasthani cuisine.
You have sit down, crossed leg, and what a warm welcome you are given.
They make you feel so comfortable and you are forced to eat twice as much as you can normally have.
Believe me !!!! their hospitality & food is so good !!!!!!!
Unbelievable !!!
The food quality, quantity, unparalleled !!!!!!
What a spread, all the typical vegetables of Rajasthan made in home made ghee, lassi, sweets etc.
Mmmmmmmm, I cant wait to goto Jaipur again.
Hey wait, its not over as yet, after having dinner, you can then enjoy either tea, or goolas ( mind you
these goolas are even better than your Bombay goolas, or some beverages).
Well, there were lot more things out there which I dont remember at the moment.
Okie what next.
I cant remember at the moment pal.
Well, this shopping mall Ganpati Plaza is also quite good.
I found a couple of shops just selling a variety of good quality imported ties, there were some branded ones too.
Oh yes, this mall also houses, Pizza Hut & Dominos.
Well, before I sign off, I believe Jaipur visit in incomplete without watching a movie at the famous Raj Mandir.
This movie hall looks more like a film studio rather than a cinema hall !!!!!
Well, I dont know if there are others like this in India, but out here , the management does allow any black marketeering of
tickets outside cinema hall !!!!!!!!!!
So, if you want to see a movie out here, be early !!!
Well thats all I can remember at the moment.
Thanks for reading a rather long review.
