JAIPUR DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY WELCOMES YOU
TO THE PINKCITY
Now this is the usual hoarding which you will find on each entrance of the city (be it highways , railway station or Airport) on the shiny , bright rectangular board by JDA. The body which is responsible for the urban development of the city.
Jaipur is a city which is reinvented by leaps and bounce and looking at the present situation of the Rajasthan capital it becomes hard to believe that is it the same Jaipur which always use to be taunted at being a capital city.
The city offers beautiful sceneries and various sight seeing places along with being one of the finest and peaceful places to live. The infrastructure of the city has improved drastically , thanks to the champions trophy which acted as a motivator for the state government.
CITY’S ATTRACTIONS
Hawa Mahal: The symbol of Rajasthan Tourism and a complete masterpiece of
architecture, I am sure u all must have seen it on televisions & magazines.
Jal Mahal : As the name suggests it is made on the pool having 3-4 floors inside water,
lovely place for sight seeing , also called chaupati of Jaipur where u can sit
and enjoy the sight.
But instead of that I will recommend to sit in Café Coffee Day right
opposite to the jal mahal inside a Petrol Pump. U can enjoy some nice
coffee while watching the Jal Mahal right in front of u surrounded by
beautiful hills.
Albert Hall : Frankly speaking it looks awesome from outside and gives an
Ambiance particularly in the night when it’s lights are turned on. But I can
suggest u not to go inside the hall as it doesn’t contain anything special it’s
just a museum with a mummy which was gifted by Egyptian King to
the Maharaja of Jaipur.
Nahargarh : Remember “Loose control , one more time loose control” or “Khalbali
hai Khalbali” yes that sight of the famous blockbuster of this year
Rang De Basanti is of Nahargarh. It is situated in the hills and takes around
20 min. of curvie adventurous driving to reach there. You get a bird’s
eye view of the city from Nahargarh. The shooting sight is a small place in
Nahargarh it’s very big a fort. Perfect place for a picnic.
Jaigarh : Near Nahargarh , it is also situated on the hills. The specialty of this place is
Centuries old world’s biggest Cannon which still stands there. A huge Fort
on the top certainly a shaan of Jaipur. Moreover the roads to Jaigarh and
Nahargarh are excellent it sets the mood in for long curvy drive.
City Palace: Palace of his highness , a large portion of it is thrown open to the visitors
but some major and interesting part still remains with Maharaja. A must
see place.
Walled City: It is a part of old Jaipur and consists of Pink city. The shops and restaurants
all are pained with pink which gives u a completely different look of the old
city as compared to the blackie or Burnt out old buildings of older parts of
Delhi , Ahmedabad , Mumbai etc. It contains Jaipur’s finest Bazaars e.g
Johari Bazaar , Tripolia Bazaar , Bapu Bazaar. Moreover just outside
&
