Jal mahal

This castle situated amidst the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city, the capital of the province of Rajasthan, India. The castle and the lake around it were redesigned and broadened in the eighteenth century by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber.

The Jal Mahal castle is viewed as an engineering marvel worked in the Rajput style of design(normal in Rajasthan) giving a beautiful perspective of the lake(from the Man Sagar Dam on the eastern side of the lake that goes about as a vantage point for survey the lake and the valley), and the encompassing Nahargarh(residence the tigers) slopes. The castle, worked in red sandstone, is a five storied working out of which four stories stay submerged when the lake is full and the best floor is uncovered.

The slopes encompassing the lake are, towards the north east of Jaipur, have quartzite shake developments(with a thin layer of soil cover), which is a piece of Aravalli slopes go. Shake exposures at first glance in a few sections of the venture territory have likewise been used for developing structures. From the north east, the Kanak Vrindavan valley, where a sanctuary complex is arranged, the slopes slant delicately towards the lake edge. Inside the lake region, the ground region is comprised of a thick mantle of soil, blown sand and alluvium. Timberland denudation, especially in the sloping zones, has caused soil disintegration, aggravated by wind and water activity. Because of this, sediment developed in the lake bringing about a raising of the bed level of the lake.
