I went to this restaurant twice. Once a week after it opened and once recently after almost 4-5 months. But the service there has gradually gone from bad to worse.
Food is not so tasty for the high price quoted in the menu. A small plate Murg handi costs Rs.250/-. Served in a small bowl, it tastes pathetic. Tried some different chapatis(A tandoori chapatti costs Rs.30). A beer costs Rs.150 and a 4 piece chicken tikka costs 250. 30ml Bacardi costs Rs.100.
They tried to build a Mughal ambience but it turns out to be very noisy and cramped up. A/C is On but smoking is allowed giving a stuffy smell around. Music started off by playing old melodious numbers but I heard Fanaa too in between.
The first time I went there on a saturday evening it was crowded, but this time I got the seat in a matter of minutes. Should have realised then!
Service is lethargic. Have to shout to call the Alampanas. The best part was reserved for me at the end. I waited 45 minutes for my parcel. They gave it to me in a silver foil(the chicken handi which I could not digest there and thought would carry it for my dogs), with no packet. The reason given - The storekeeper has left for the day and therefore we do not have the plastic covers, so please carry it in this silver foil.
Billing took a lot of time -was the same when I went there 1st time too. My advise - keep away from Jalsa if you do not want to spoil your night!
