Janasheen ……………..musically yours
Now, that’s entertainment. Janasheen, the chic looking caper by the self crowned American Pathan Feroz Khan, is an invitation to the 43 minutes of non-stop vim and vigor of music fiesta. Feroz Khan, dot from Apradh to Yalgaar has entertained the masses with his musical genius , which is found less and less in the latest crop of
film makers. With his latest venture , he has hit the bulls eye , having a clear winner under his belt. The aim of the album is unilateral, just to give an incessant doze of
a musical waltz.
He should be accoladed for investing all his energy, experience and expertise in extracting breezy zing and jazz from the eight tracks making them lively and
rollicking . You really need a mastermind to extract the best from a bunch of five music composers , nine singers and seven lyricists. Clearly , the style and grandeur
in which the tracks are worked upon, it really separates man from boys.
The music showcases all about love , fondness , passion , submission and obsession. These human emotion are illuminated in a bouquet , showing some scintillating
singing by the likes of Adnan Sami, Sunidhi, Jaspindar Narula, Gauri Bapat and above all Sukhwindar Singh, ----some zingy compositions by Anand Raj Anand, Biddu
Sukhwant singh, Channi singh----and some mesmerizing words by Praveen Bhardwaj Tejpal kaur , Timon singh, Ibrahim ashq, Dev Kohli, Nazir Kazmi. The album positively
negates the age old saying that too many cooks spoil the meals.
The opening shot halka rendered by Sonu and Alka , a cool and cosy track, is the only conservative track amongst all. The thumping beats and easy words make it a good
listening.
Clearly the show belongs to some beautiful singing by Sukhwinder singh showcasing three superb tracks ---Marhaba, Ishq Fitrat and Ankhiya . Going overboard not even once , it is a perfect blend of melody and a fully controlled voice. All of the tracks have the ingradients of making it to chartbusters.
The track by the international composer iddu , diwani, makes us nostalgic taking us to the old days of Disco Diwane with Nazia Hasan, his sister.Jaspinder Narula , a specialist in such a scenario renders much life to the song. It’s a sure fire hit , should be going well with masses.
Again, coming to the gentleman with magical fingers ( with the piano), Adnan Sami , his masti bhara song with Sunidi carries mixed feelings. Sunidhi is excellent with her nostril going on a long vacation. It is Adnan who is a downer and never rises above the expectations he has made with tera chehra. Still the track has an inbuilt populist appeal and shall not disappoint the Sami fans.
Now coming to the gazal ---- it really spoils the party and the breezy mood of the listener. Blatantly copied and imported from Pakistan , it is not even one percent of the original rendered by Asif Ali (of Pakistan).Improvised to the hilt, Babul Supriyo and Gauri Bapat have made a mess of it. Clearly Supriyo should be advised aping Kisoreda and Shaanuda.
All in all, it is a performance you can whistle down the lane , enjoy on the highways with your beloved or dance to it at the weehour bashes.
