Although AIC wer enever really one of my favorite bands from the era for their lack of consistent songs in an album , it was this album that towards the end of the so called grunge era that really broke the chains.
Sap/Jar of flies was supposed to be AIC’s break before their follow up to the successful dirt.
This album however blew everyone away with its ability to show a band that really didnt need black sabbath riffs to write good songs.
Brillaint acoustic guitars , soft depressing melodies , and a harmonious reunion of voices between layne staley and jerry cantrell well describe this .
Dont follow is brilliant, even with the wittty yet sad lyrics its still a tear inducer , no excuses , whale and wasp and I stay away are beautiful, they’re dark , they’re meaningful and they wont scare your girlfriend away cos they sound lovely. Yup honestly thats the only word I could find to describe this.
If anything this album will definately teach ’’rockers’’ that u dont have to shout to get ur message across.
Buy this , hell its cheap , trade in your Titanic soundtrack...
No on second thoughts just give the soundtrack away , spend the money ...its good value.
