Jashan Lounge and Bar is a part of well known Hotel chain, Arista. I visited this place on the New Year’s Eve to have dinner with my family. I did not have a very good experience frankly. Though the exteriors and interiors were quite fancy and impressive but the food was equally bad. They had a very small menu. Buffets are supposed to have huge menus so that you have a variety to taste. But it was nothing like that.
We decided to try the Buffet and they asked us to pay the money at the entry itself which is considered rude. The bill should ideally be sent at the end of the meal.
We chose a particular table and sat down. And the minute we sat down, the waiters loaded our plates with tonnes of snacks. They didn’t even give us a second to settle to down. The snacks weren’t even warm enough. It is completely fine to work on the ‘Buffet policy’ of rapidly loading the customers with snacks so that they eat less but atleast keep in mind the comfort of the guests. Snacks were very limited and the non-veg snacks were pathetic. They tasted so bad. Soft drinks were unlimited which was a good thing. The Mocktails were paid and the simplest of mocktails, Virgin Mojito was for ₹200. I wonder what they added to it that made the drink so expensive.
Coming on to the Main course, it was just okay but did not meet the expectations according to the cost. Soups were also not good. The bread crumbs served with the Tomato soup had a very bad taste. Main Course had 2 types of salad, 2 chinese dishes and rest were normal Indian dishes like Dal Makhni, Rice, Missi roti, Palak paneer and Veg biryani.
Desserts included ice cream, Gajar ka halwa and Gulab jamun, which was again nothing special. There were no cakes and puddings.
It was such a waste of money. Not worth the price.
