WEll.....................for all those who are sick and tired of MISS EKTA KAPOOR and her serials, there is still hope for you on the idiot box, in the name of JASSI JAISI KOI NAHI.This is Sony TV’s new offering to all tortured viewers.............who want and wish to see something beyond the saas-bahu ghitpit and all bakwaas in the name of bharitya sanskriti and sabhayta.JASSI is refreshing and a very differant serial...........and what works for it is its noval story, new and fresh cast and the main heroine(i.e. JASSI)is no beauty queen, dressed up in heavy sarees and gold.Infact she is most ordinary looking...............and wears the most non-glamorous clothes.The serial infact works on several accounts................and that is why is is slowly catching up with all sections of people, which is a good sign, that everyone wants change, and if they are shown something differant they are ready to appreciate it as well.
The STORY of JASSI takes place in GULMOHAR HOUSE(which is a fashion house)where the chairman ARMAAN SURI(APOORVA)is in look-out for a secretory..............and thats where JASMEET WALIA enters.She has all the qualifications but lacks in looks and style.......which is why she is ridiculed.MALLIKA(RAKSHANDA KHAN) on the other hand wants her friend PARI(MANINI DE) to become Armaan’s secretory...........so that she can keep an eye on her fiancee, Armaan who is quite a casanova .But Armaan is adamant on keeping jassi as his secretory.........coz he thinks she is intelligent, but since Mallika too is adamant.....on Pari he has too keep both, And then starts the fun..............till now it is being shown how JASSI is trying to adjust in the big bad world of FASHION HOUSE, and how she does everything to keep her boss happy.
The ACTING by the whole cast is good...................and what I liked even more is that they have picked up quite new and fresh faces.APPOORVA AGNIHOTRI as AMAAN is good and looks handsome, RAKSHANDA(MALLIKA) and MANINI DE(PARI)have negative shades to their characters but they bring the right amount of grace to their roles, they do not go over-board, the girl who plays JASSI is particularly good...............she is very natural , she carries of the most weird look and clothes with confidence.Her mannerisms, body language and expressions are very cute and funny.PARMEET SETHI as Armaan’s freind is all-right..............there is a guy who plays MADDY, i find his acting and way of speaking absolutely funny.JASSI’s father also acts very well..................just like how a over-protected father will do.The rest of the cast is good too.
The direction..................is good by TONY SINGH(i think), he has kept thing and situations in control.Some of the scenes are very well shot like the ones between JASSI and ARMAAN and also JASSI and her father..................but there is not one bit of over-acting or drama-bazzi.He has also extracted good work from his cast.Also the good thing is that the story proceeds on one track...............so there is no confusion or boring moments.Over-all a good job done by the makers of the serial.
Some of the other good things are the dialouges.....................which are very emotional and thought-provoking at times................the serial in a way depicts that people who are not naturally bestowned with good looks(as it is shown in the case of JASSI) can also make a name for themselves and also can get good jobs in big companies if they have knowledge and will to succeed in them.The title song sung by SHAAN is also nice and catchy.
Overall JJKN is fun to watch...................it has started of very well, and if it continues this way it is sure to go a long way.
