Yet another serial. One must agree with me that the serial was talk of the town mainly due to its most structurely designed campaign.
I distinctly remember the promos started a month prior to the actual telecast of the serial, whereby they had shown all the other characters one at a time introducing themselves and praising this girl Jasmeet Walia and concluding that Jassi jaisi koi nahi.
I also remember that a day prior to the curtain raiser of this soap there was picture published in Bombay Times (I cant recollect the date) where all the characters of the serial i.e. Arman, Mallika, Pari, Maddie were sitting across the dining table and posing for the pic. But only this girl had her face hidden in the Menu card. Gosh, these guys were really cool to generate the curiosity. I mean till that time everybody including me would have thought that this must be really a very good looking girl.
And it came as a really welcome surprise. The storyline was cool and so far untouched by any other producer. This is not something new but the manner in which it was presented was really cool.
Initially when the serial had started you could actually feel the goodness of everybodys relationship i.e. the confidence of a father in her daughter irrespective of how she looks, a mothers concern for her daughter safe and bright future, a daughters awareness of responsibility towards her family, the friendship of Nandu & Jassi. Everything looking completely so very natural. Even the tussle at the high class people at the Gulmohur House was pretty well captured.
These all input really made the serial to fall upto the expectations of the audience. And I need not remind you all guys that we really required this break from the routine stuff shown in the serials now a days. And looking at the quality of serials of Sony TV (having stupid serials like Kya Hadsa Kya Haqiqat and Achanak..........) this was a good start.
Coming back to Jassi, the start was good and they were really able to take it further for 15 more episodes, but now when I see it, Jassi has changed.
I mean people were talking of and appreciating her brain and were pretty comfortable with her look (the initial one). But now if you look at her she comes with a load of make-up. May be the director does not want the audience to bear the drastic change in Jassi i.e. the so called ugly duckling switching over to something extra ordinarily beautiful.
For me the interest level has gone a little down. At times the acting of Arman and Pari is so silly that takes away the charm. But I guess people will still love to watch this if it tries to deliver whatever was plan in limited episodes rather than to drag it. In short, if you can make it then dont miss Jassi.
And yes Jassi has really a very good and convincing voice.
