Jassi jaisi koi nahi began very well. People identified Jassi as the girl next door, the one who is an average person, almost an ugly duckling but one with loads of talent and honesty. People enjoyed her war with the so called beauty Pari. To me Pari does not look beautiful but she thinks she is fashionable and since the Bosss fiancee (and also the director of Gulmohar) is her friend she feels that the world is her oyster. She is a divorcee, out to catch a good looking well loaded male and tries to hook Raj. Raj sucumbs and she pretends to be pregnant with his child and tries to get him to marry her. He agrees for an engagement, a little before Arman Suri gets engaged.
The badsoorat gang bursts her secret and Raj breaks off the engagement. So far it was funny, the way Pari behaved like an expectant motehr but Raj went a bit too far in making fun of her before an audience. This is not done.
Meanwhile Arman and Malika are getting engaged and the onus of planning the party falls on Jassis shoulders. She moves heaven and earth, despite an arm in a sling. And manages well. It is disgusting the way Mallika yells at her. It is not fair. Even if she did not like the arrangements, Mallika should have kept quiet till after the function and then ticked off Jassi. She was not fair and this shouting of hers is not in keeping with her so called high breeding. A normal person would have grinned and borne it(since nothing could have been done at this stage) and then shouted afterwards, even dismissed Jassi.
The poor girl has gone through so mush hassles for this day, trying to keep everything a secret, trying to keep the lawyers visit a secret and all that.
Despite all these flaws, Jassi is a good serial. In the present context of too many highly dressed and jewellery loaded saas-bahu serials Jasssi comes as a whiff of fresh air ad is absoring, funny and poignant.
