Why??? Because it is good, the story line is different for a change and it is entertaining. The serial has a little something of every thing for every body and hence can be enjoyed with the entire family. There’s humour for everybody, tragedy for our mothers and grand mothers, decent glamour for our fathers and grand fathers, and romance for the love torn. Though the basic story line is expected by the audience to be that of an ugly duckling turning into a beautiful swan at the end of it all, you never know if the director gives us a twist in the “tale”. And then again even if the ending would be the same, the serial is worth a “dekho”. All the characters are portrayed nicely and we can relate to them in real life. The triumphs and traumas of a middle class family, the Richie Rich “Armaan”, the play boy image of “Raj”, the bitchy “Pari”, the fashion house “Gulmohar” and its politics and personnel, the fashion designer “Magi”, and of course our dear “Jassi” herself. The serial can also be inspirational for the mediocore lookers in this time of Greek Gods and Godesses roaming around every where – it shows that brains do matter after all. The title song is also quite hummable. The performance of each character has been natural. The serial though at times seems to slow down a bit. The half hour allocated to it is also not sufficient as after the ads the actual viewing time comes down to only 15-20 minutes at the most. The serial definitely comes as a good change from the regular soaps and the corporate politics mixed with family melodrama make it more exciting to watch. It is good for light viewing and the entire family can settle down and watch it. Those looking out for a change from the “usual” should definitely give it a try, though a bit late I am sure they can catch up on it.
Definitely recommendable.
