It is a very good tv series. Humor and family values all embedded in one. No shadyantras, no saazish. No unnecessary loud music , no 100 angles to show the same shot. No time leaps and no illogical twists and turns in the story. Though the character of Jasuben is slightly too idealistic , she acts very well. The characters have been structured very nicely.
The gujarat small town effect has been shown well. The highlighting of a family man’s mental state of mind at various stages of life has been done well. It is one show you should watch in comparison to the beaten and usual track of saas bahu operas. The saas- bahu relationships in this series have been shown in a more innocent and how reality is. The best part of the wholw thing is that there is a happy ending always. The show always ends on a note of hope.
Lets hope it continues in this form only and does not adopt to the shoddy operas of the ekta kapoor kind. With a channel like NDTV Imagine which has come actually clutter breaking ideas by launching shows like this and ’Angrezi mein kehte hain’ it seems unlikely that they will tamper with the way it’s going right now. However, lets see how the TRPs and Ad sales move. That I think will determine how the show changes creatively.
