Jawaharlal Nehru University is every bright youngster’s dream. JNU is academically and socially a vibrant place where all have space to express their views. Jawaharlal Nehru University is ranked Second among the public universities in India. The academic complex is an impressive cluster of schools, where teaching and research covers the range of subjects from Science and Technology to Humanities. In year 2012 The National Assessment and Accreditation Council gave the grade of 3.9 out of 4. Jawaharlal Nehru University was established in 1969 and its campus spread over approximately 1000 acres of land. JNU is organized into 10 schools and in this review I am going to write about them.
School of Social Sciences: The school of Social Sciences has from the outset boldly venture to dismantle narrow disciplinary confines. There is center for the study of Social System, Social Medicine, Community Health, Geography, Economic Studies and Planning, and center for Historical Studies. School of Social Sciences is the largest school in terms of the number of faculty members.
School of Computer and Systems Sciences: This school was established in 1974 and providing deals with very vast range of technology and computer sciences and Computer Network, Software engineering, Artificial Intelligence are its examples. These all are other Schools at JNU: School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies. School of Life Sciences and Environmental Sciences. School of Biotechnology. School of Arts and Aesthetics. Centre for the Study of Law and Governance. School of Physical Sciences
Hostels in JNU: There are 18 Hostels at JNU for Boys and Girls and there is one hostel for married students. Upto 22.5% plus 3% of the seats in the hostels are reserved for the SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates respectively. The capacity of hostel is 5500 candidates and the process to get hostel facility is very Difficult because you have provide so many documents like Residence Certificate, Posting certificate and Ration Card.
Sports and Medical Facilities: There are large number of sports club at JNU like JNU Athletic Club, Badminton Club, Tennis Club, Cricket Club, Volleyball Club, Football Club, Mountaineering and trekking Club and many more. Health education is an integral part of university. JNU also providing good medical facilities for their students like laboratory test, X-ray, dental services all others.
Overall Jawaharlal Nehru University is a best place for studies and this the dream of every bright youngster to become a student of JNU.
