I’m a regular viewer of Jaya TV. Though it does not come from a big media group such as Sun Network or Star, I would say that it is equally good. The programs are becoming increasingly interesting (both technically and content-wise) except the news which always boasts about the Chief Minister of TN and tries to persuade the viewers of the ruling party.
Though many programs are modelled on the lines of Sun TV, there are some unique programs. I do not remember any other Tamil Cable Channel airing a news program for kids, except Jaya TV.
I have recently seen a lot of technical improvements, good sound clarity and innovative graphics. Frequency of commercials in between programs is moderate if not scant.
From a purely entertainment point of view, this is my favourite channel, but it needs a better visibility (I am yet to see this channel in so called TAM ratings, but soon it will be there).
It often seems that many programs are directed towards females (though that does not mean that they withhold showing those filthy scenes from movies which denigrate women).
Due to such feministic tendency, I’m not sure how many men like watching the programs. But I definitely do, partly because of the gorgeous females appearing as anchors! :-)
