I had gone to purchase a gold chain in Khazana jewellers in Jayanagar 4th Block. After making the purchase, I wanted to make the payment thro’ my credit card.
They asked for identity card. So gave my employee ID. Khazana staff said that I will have to give either PAN card or voter iD neither of which I was carrying withme. Khazana staff insisted that without that they will not accept the card.
Also, I had made a purchase in the same Khazana store last month using the card when no identity proof was asked. I was surprised to know that the rules could change within a month’s time. The staff was not at all helpful and was least concerned about us. I have made purchases worth lakhs in same store and thi s disgusting experience had made me decide never to visit them again.
So called manager did not even know to speak properly and never bothered to help when we walked out. We have made purchases worth thousands of rupees using credit cards elsewhere and nowhere they had asked for identity proof. We ended up buying in neighborhood of Khazana without id proof.
Khazana has lost a customer. Their callous attitude is very appaling in today’s competetive market as customers end up going to competitors.Even if there is a rule to produce identity proof, that should be displayed in the shop to avoid inconvenience to customers.
