JEENA ISI KA NAAM HAI
This show was telecast on Fridays 9.00 pm, and hosted by Farooque Shaikh. I still remember the first episode wherein they had invited the King of Hearts, Shahrukh Khan!!
This show was hosted by Farooque Shaikh who kept the viewers glued to the television with his soothing language skills. He comforted all those who came in.
Then there was a rally of guests, from Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Karishma Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee, Dr. Kurien, Akshay Kumar, Tanuja, Vivek Oberoi, Shekhar Suman, Gulshan Grover, David Dhawan, Kiran Bedi, Govinda, Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Ravina Tondon, P. C. Sorcar, and even Laloo Prasad Yadav, and many many more.
Each and every episode was aimed at introducing the audience to the personality they loved. The regular format of an episode was as follows:-
The celebrity would be called in and then, there would be an audio-visual introduction of the person.
Then, they would call in the guests, the people near and dear to him/her. They would share their experiences with the person.
The show was made more beautiful by disclosing the person’s very own album to us. There were some really rare and worth watching photographs of the celebrity.
Then there were many video messages by the relatives and friends of the person.
The show gave us a clear idea as to what kind of person the personality is!
The anchoring was later transferred to Suresh Oberoi who also gave justice to his participation.
As far as the cons of the show were concerned, the anchoring by both the anchors seemed to be somewhat rigid. Moreover, the audio appeal of the show was loose.
Yet, the show made us say ’ACCHA SHOW ISI KA NAAM HAI’!!
The show was called off this Friday i.e. 21st of March, 2003, with Karan Johar as the ’last’ guest.
We will miss you, Jeena Isi ka naam hai!!!
