Kaun Banega Crorepati now has a new competition and it is in the form of Govinda doing Chappar Phaad Ke.
The success of Kaun Banega Crorepati on Star Plus, hosted by Amitabh Bacchan has made everybody in the television industry sit up and pay notice to the fact that in a predominantly cash starved middle and poor class Indian country game shows that promise the winnings of crores of rupees is a sure shot success story for television and prime time telecast.
Thus, the result is Sony Entertainment Channel joining the bandwagon and starting a new show called Chappar Phaad Ke, where Govinda is doing his best to give unlimited paisa! and unlimited hungama!, but the above success story can also turn sour as can be experienced by the failure of Sawal Dus Crore Ka, a game show on the Zee Network hosted by the duo of Anupam Kher and Manisha Koirala.
But where Zee has failed, Sony has learned from Zees failure and safely roped in the Chhote Mian govinda and also developed a red-golden dominated set to counter the blue dominated Kaun Banega Crorepati.
Though the main thing is rounds of question asked with life lines and escalating prize money, the main difference are the protagonist, that is the quiz masters.
It goes without saying that Amitabh Bacchans stature will be unmatched, how hard though Govinda may try. Still, there is space for everybody as Sony again has wisely slotted Chappar Phaad Ke at times when Kaun Banega Crorepati is not showing, thus promising unlimited hungama. The only hitch that remains for the success of Chappar Phaad Ke is the Govinda factor.
Govinda is totally unprofessional when getting at sets on time is concerned thus keeping participants, audience and production team on their wits end!.
In an otherwise unlimited mazza, unlimited paisa and unlimited hungama govinda may not be aala rey.
