Viewers will throng to TV sets at homes and restaurants. The folks at homes will answer the questions before the contestants, boasting their knowledge, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Vow, what else you need for relaxation and enjoyment?
While the channel wars hot up, many more prospective multi millionaires line up and we are presented with new shows...people’s ambitions grow...dreams come true. This latest show hosted by the invincible Govinda has very many jewels in the crown to make it into a very popular show..the only show where you can buy an airconditioner, a computer or a car with just one rupee. Is it not tempting?
Each contestant is chosen from a group after the initial test. The lights dim, brighten up to the befitting background score. The sets are ornamental and majestic Govinda with a captivating smile on his face starts the show with the first question...WHAT IS THE BIGGEST DREAM IN YOUR LIFE?.. He prays to God for the fulfillment of the dream and makes the contestant confident to answer the questions.
Govinda presents the questions with natural ease, perfect timing and the correct emphasis which makes the contestant understand the question correctly. The contestant answers. Govinda with a glow in his eyes and a mischievous smile, asks him, ’’yakin hai aap ko?’’...’’mohur laga dun’’..all novel and unintimidating and soothing questions that steal away the gravity and tension, which in turn make the contestant tranquil.
Govinda does not sit, but stands and briskly walks along, to the dancing shadows and lighting techniques. When the contestant finds it difficult to answer, he can choose from the DOSTs, a very familiar introduction of a helpline. It is all well knit and thought off. Govinda excels and he utters CHAPPAR PHAD KE intermittently. Spectators clap in unison with the music. He indulges in telling anecdotes, mimics certain actors, very well. Humour fills the atmosphere. Govinda proves that he is a great presenter. When he announces a break, he does it in a unique manner, very enjoyable.
At different stages, he leads the contestant to a shopping line up of household appliances and a car, takes one rupee for the contestant to choose one item, comes back to his seat. The questions continue, the money multiplies in certain progression. The questions deal with all subjects, all walks of life. They seemed to be not so difficult during the initial episodes, probably they might gain weight in course of time.
Sony Television is sure to improve its rating with Govinda around for three days a week. He steals the show and our hearts. He dances with the spectators into the week end, makes it very memorable.
