If I was writing this review in 1999, I would have raved about Jet Airways, but after recently flying on Jet, I must admit that this is as good or as bad as any other domestic flights in India.
There seems to be a problem with the staff and NRIs. As soon as they gauge that you are an NRI, they treat you with disrespect. In my case, me and my wife were allocated separate seats inspite of me telling them that we were married. When I tried adjusting the seats with a fellow passenger, the air-hostess was rude and intrusive. The food was good but served without a hint of smile.
My friends convinced me that this was an isolated incident and I flew again, barely a few weeks ago. The ground service was ordinary and the flight crew seemed they coudnt care less. The check-in attendant actually had the gals of lecturing me because my baggage was a few pounds heavier (actually about 2 kilos heavier). Made me pay in INR - did not accept credit card.
All this brings back memories of the old monopoly days of Indian Airlines. If Jet Airways does not get its act together, it will soon fall into the same quagmire.
